GVHA Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Goulburn Valley Hockey Association is to be held on 27th November, 2023.

As a GVHA Member, please attend and consider where you may be able to assist the association. A full and functional committee is needed for the association to be able to effectively deliver all that is expected of the association. Too few have been doing too much for much too long.

What: GVHA 2023 AGM

When: 7:00pm Monday 27th November, 2023

Where: GV Hockey Hub. 120 Numurkah Road, Shepparton.

All GVHA Committee positions are up for election. These consist of:

1. President (executive position)

2. Vice President (executive position)

3. Treasurer (executive position)

4. Assistant Treasurer (executive position)

5. Secretary (executive position)

6. Assistant Secretary (executive position)

7. General Member #1*

8. General Member #2*

9. General Member #3*

10. General Member #4*

*General Members will have specific responsibilities to perform including but not limited to Media/Communications/IT, Coaching & Umpiring Development, Competitions, Sponsorship/Events and Representative programs.

Subcommittees are welcomed to be formed in areas such as Junior Hockey, Facilities, Umpiring and Representative programs (eg. JCC & SCC).

A brief status on existing committee members’ intentions heading into 2024 is below. As you can see, new hands are needed to be raised and fresh faces are more than welcomed. The association simply cannot operate and provide for all members and clubs without a full and functional Committee.

  • Cameron Druitt (2017-2023 President) After 6 years is standing down as President.
  • Gavin Ralston (2023 Vice President) is standing down.
  • Sonia Scanlon (2023 Secretary) has been proxy Secretary for most of the year and will not be continuing. Interest has gladly been received for this position.
  • Allyson Powell (2022-2023 Treasurer) is standing down as Treasurer as planned.
  • Jason Clancy (2022-2023 Umpire Coordinator) is wishing to stay on as Umpire Coordinator.
  • Olivia Forbes (2023 Assistant Secretary) is standing down.
  • Michael Van Dorsser (2023 General Member) is standing down.

We ask for expressions of interest, or even just inquiries, to be made prior to the AGM to help with messaging between now and the 27th as well as recruitment efforts. Please feel free to contact a committee member or Jason La Rocca at Hockey Victoria to discuss the upcoming AGM, the committee for 2024 and/or to express some level of interest.
